A Spring Time Card

I finished up all my swaps for the month of March this past monday night. The last 2 cards I did was sympathy card and my choice just as long as a cricut was used in the process (6 of each). Since I've been waiting for spring to arrive in Pennsylvania I decided a spring card would encourage the mood a bit.

This card was alot of fun to do once I got it planned out. Recipe is: 4.25" X 5.5" (A2) size salmon color cardstock. The butterfly, pup and bone (under scallop oval sentiment) was cut from Paper Pups cart, the shovel and dirt pile were cut from Freshly Picked cart, and the banner spring letters and pendants were cut from Country Life cart. Can You Dig It was used from a computer font and cut with an oval punch from Stampin Up.
I will also be putting this card into my first challenge: Fantabulous Cricut Challenge for their "Looks Like Spring" challenge. Can't wait for what will be next.

March Recipe Swap

Wow another month gone by in our area you wouldn't know it was spring by how cold it's been outside. The last sunday of the month is my local scrapbook shop's recipe swap. The theme this month was anythng green. Now there is a story to what I created. I struggled most of the month trying to figure out what to do for this swap, when I got an advertisment in the mail for a cookbook. I just happen to look through the mailer and came across a free recipe and this it the recipe.

With that title I couldn't have asked for something more green, LOL. So the recipe for making the card is:
6 X 6 inch square, grasshopper came from Stretch your Imagination cartridge and the lettering came for Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I got 12 of these put together for the swap right before the swap finished it just in the nick of time. Didn't turn out to bad, learned from it to put one together before cutting out all the letters, I would have went with a darker green then for the parfaits. I cut out all the needed pieces yesterday. I also work on the prepping 2 other cards for Cricuitscraplifters (yahoo group) March Card Swap. Got one put together tonight and will have the picture here tomorrow or Tuesday. Hope everyone has a great week ahead!

March Mingle 2011 Card

Hi you all,
I finished up my 2011 March Mingle for the creativecuttlebuggers yahoo group.
I finally got my cast off on Friday and over the weekend got busy preparing this card and cut materials and stamped the images for another swap that I have to do yet this month, plus plan and do my recipe swap that's due this weekend, no TV this week.
I got my inspiration for this card first from a scrapbook layout I seen in an old issue of Creating Keepsakes. Part of the layout consisted of some paper I recognized really fast as the paper in the Minds Eye pack that I've been working with (purging out the old stock). This pack of paper was the first stack pack I bought when I first got started in scrapbooking. The color scheme for this card came from that paper and the inside of the card has some similarity to that layout. You just never know where that inspiration will come from.

This card was dry embossed with Vintage Wallflowers folder from Stampin Up of the pattern paper. The orange was dry embossed with the Swiss Dots folder, sentiment stamps were from Above Rubies Studio received with a DVD purchase.

The stamp used on the inside of the card was given to me by a dear friend of mine. I learned something with doing this card that I need better black ink the cheap ink pad was dry to use and it took awhile to ink up the stamp and I should have used color pencils to color the stamp and the next time I try markers to use a stamp that was heat emboss.
Thanks you all for taking time to look at my creations.

Easter Swap Completed

I finished up my Easter Swap cards last night for Paper Crafting with My Cricut. Laid out the card design on my Gypsy on Sunday and cut out all the material Sunday afternoon. I put them together last night. I've got a mingle to do before the weekend and another swap to prepare for and get done up before the end of the month. Plus I have my monthly recipe swap to plan out and do for the last weekend of the month. Maybe fit some scrappin in before the end of the month, it's been busy but alot of fun. So here is the card I did for the swap all cuts were done on the cricut even the card base:

I used Doodlecharms for the basket & eggs. Lucy Labels for the card based (enlarged). Platin School was used for rickrack border and lettering on front of card. Wildcard was used for the inside phrase. Cardstock, paper, stickles and glue.

Woke up to....

I woke up to 9 and 1/2 inches of snow on the porch banister. Heck of a Robin snow don't you think. Spring please.......
I thought that I would lift my spirits this morning looking at some of layouts I have done and came across my first digital scrapbook layout. The elements in this layout came from Shabby Princess, I think with a tutorial of how to do a 1st layout. I chose to do a picture of my husband Dave and our grandaughter Britney. I was not able to attend the party due to working but Dave had a great time and I was glad to capture that moment in this layout.

Snow again!

Sunday night 9:00 PM I am looking out my window to 6" of new snow on the banister of the porch and it isn't letting up yet. Finally got to see the crocus up yesterday, but now they'll be asleep with the blanket of snow. Spring please...
Yesterday attended a cardmaking class that I was suppose to be at on Thursday but unexpected company arrived and I had to play hostess. But I did get a chance to make the cards yesterday and I'm lovin borders right now on the cards and see that in future cards. My local scrapbook lady (Scrapin with Kat) was kind enough to have everything cut out for me and ready to put the card together. The cast that I have been carrying around has hindered my love of crafting, so I have many kind friends that are helping through it so I can get my crafting fix once in a while. So here are the creations made from the Tea at Elsie's Collection, a very springy collection which fits in at the moment.
