For the Girls-Creative Cutting Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog, this week's Creative Cutting Challenge theme is For the Girls and I don't know what better way to a girl's heart is than with roses. So I made a Birthday card for one of the girls in our family (I know there is a birthday coming up soon for the DD and the DGD)
I put this card together with a bit of help from Creative Pointe’s Rolled Roses set.

With a little glitter among the petals, just makes the roses a bit more special for a really sweet birthday card. The roses cut so well that they are a breeze to put together.

This is what the rose looks like when you cut it and pull it off the cutting mat.
You want to start from the inside and just roll it up
 Keep rolling
When your done rolling it should look like this

After you rolled it then you put the bottom under the roll and start to spread it till you get the flower looking like the way that you want it to look.
Then you add glue to the bottom and with in the underside of the flower roll.
As it sits it will relax a bit and open up a bit more.

I used K&Company Que Sera Sera Designer paper for the roses and the card base, I was thinking that the flowers may not be as stiff with a lighter weight paper and will have to try that sometime to see if it makes any difference. The pick cardstock was sitting on my craft table and thought is was perfect for this as a second background and to hold the sentiment. I used Inkadinkado circle and dots clear stamp borders with their Glam Gold ink for a border under the Happy Birthday from CTMH: For Every Occasions stamp and momento black ink. The leaves and butterfly came from the K&Company ECO-Modern die cuts pack. Used Studio G glitter glue on the petals to give it some bling. This was a fun card to do and not to hard to put together once the roses are done, the rolled roses was a new technique for me. I used the tutorial from Above Rubies Studio on how to roll the roses so it was very easy after that.

Enter if You Dare

Hi and welcome to my blog, today I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog and the theme is Halloween.
This is the card I did, it's an A2 size card with a base of purple cardstock. The spook house was cut from Cricut Holiday Cakes cart. @ 3.5". The background paper is from Mind's Eye Magnolia Paper pack and die cut with Spellbinders Lg Scapllop Square. Rust stickles was used for the bling.
The front sentiment and inside card sentiment were both made from MS 2000 word-clip art and word art. A fun card to put together. The inside sentiment was printed on gold paper and die cut with the a smaller scallop square of the same set.

Getting Acquainted

Good Morning and welcome back to a new season of Creative Cutting Challenges. The theme this week is Anything Goes, but you have to have an SVG cut on your project somewhere to join in on the challenges.
I recently took a Big Pictures class:StashBusters and it was all about busting your stash, well the one challenge was the metal book plates usage on a border, I didn’t have the plates but I found other things to bust out of my stash so this is how this layout out came about.

Dogs Getting Aquainted
During my hunt for some metal family labels for a layout I came across the metal dog tabs and frames and knew I had to do a dog layout too. I used the Dog tag from the Dog Elements collection from Creative Pointe for part of my title added the (s) on the side for the plural of the dogs.

It was a good addition to the layout.
All items used in the layout came from my stash, Paper was a purchase piece from my local scrapbook store years ago. I used a variety of different metals for the layout: The frames around the pictures are from a pack I got at Big Lots, the slide style frames came from a Long Journey pack I got in a swap and the metal circle tabs from Making Memories pack (still have more to use of these yet, lol). I attached the Dog tag with a gray glittered brad and a variety of alphas used.It was a fun layout out to do

(aquainted) Common misspelling of acquainted, as you can see by my title I mis-spelled do I fix or let it go? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Have a great day and don't forget to join in the fun over at Creative Cutting Challenge

Autumn Flowers

Happy September and welcome to my blog. I'm the designer today over at Card A Day Blog and the theme is Autumn. My card today makes me think of the flowers this time of the year and the colors that go with Autumn.
A beautiful sunflower to brighten you day.The flower is stamped in brown ink and is from the Close To My Heart Collection: Friendship Bouquet, the May 2012 Stamp of the month. I colored it with bic markers and cut one out and popped it up the center was done with Liquid Applique in brown to give texture to the card.  I couldn't resist grabbing my Card Chatter Sympathy set and adding the sentiment, “Just a note to brighten your day… and chase the clouds away.” for the outside and inside of the card. The card is on black cardstock with a layer of gold and then white that has a brown inked edge, brought the same white into the inside with the same inked edge.

Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up too. Thanks to all my loyal followers, I'll be back with more cards and layouts now that summer is drawing to a close and time is freed up to be crafting and blogging again.
