Thinking of You Funday Friday Challenge

Good morning and welcome :) Thank goodness it's Friday! Yay! It's been hot and very busy here at the house this past week so not as much crafting as I would have liked to have done. We had a Green Bean weekend last weekend. Saturday we did the harvesting, capping the beans and cutting them (10 hours :) Sunday after we got the new to us Cookstove put in the house Dave and I were back at it with canning the green beans. Spent the day canning all that we cut and we ended up with 23 qts and 80 pts of green beans. So I think that were covered for the year maybe 2 years :) so no green beans to be planted next year. So that is what I have been up to this week.
Today is Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack and the theme is Anything Goes. Our sponsor this week is Sherri Baldy Bestie Shop
I used the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap:

This was just a blast of a sketch to work with :)
Isn't she adorable :) This was my favorite in the group of stamps right off the bat when I seen it. It just looks like your best friend talking to you :) It also reminds me my of my granddaughter right now in her style as a teenage right now :) I thought Thinking of You would be a great card for this fun stamp.
I started to color her with the red and then added the pink and blue afterwards. I added crystal stickles to some of the red to give her some bits of glitter here and there. I used my Bic markers to color her.
The pink polka dot paper came from my current counterfeit kit and when I was looking for some glittery stars I came across this chipboard sentiment in an old counterfeit kit box of embellishments that hasn't been put away yet. Found the box of stars too in the box and decided to use these instead. So added the red washi tape and the blue glitter tape to the card.
I brought in all the elements from the front of the card into the back of the card. Found this fun vellum quote for inside sentiment for the card. Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Looking forward to seeing what you create for the challenge.

Lasting Memories Add a Cluster Challenge—Without Music Life Would be a Mistake

Hi you all and welcome.
Today Lasting Memories Challenge is to Add a Cluster to your layout:
This layout came from the 1st prompt of May's Load Music Mayhem. I had used a sketch I found (now I can't seem to find it). I used my May Counterfeit Kit for the layout. the LOAD prompt:
Let’s start the month off slowly, with a Style/Genre prompt.
Are you a country girl or a head banger? Classical or top of the pops? What’s your favorite kind of music? Make a page about it.
The picture was taken Christmas 1966, I was 3 years old
My title came from a quote I found searching with Google.
My journaling tells the person that said the quote and also my love of music. From the influences I received during my life and the joy that music brings to my world. You know the fastest way to get through a night at work is to turn on the radio and get a really good station on and just sing along and just maybe you'll catch me dancing to the music. Another layout to add to my album All About Me
This challenge is about adding a cluster and this is the cluster I added to the bottom left hand corner of my layout. I brought some of the banner into the cluster and found these 2 word arts to add to the cluster. I like when a sketch has this type of cluster cause it gets me out of my comfort zone and challenges me to do something more with my layouts.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I'm up to in my little corner of the world and I can't wait to see what you create by adding a cluster to your layout.

Ice Skate card for Funday Friday challenge

Hello again with another post for today :) This week's theme for Funday Friday is a Sketch over at Jo's Scrap Shack and our sponsor this week is Lawn Fawn.
This is the card I made from the sketch:
I ended up flipping the sketch by mistake when I added the tape to the vellum, but all is good and I think it turned out just fine.

It's a fun sketch to use and you'll have to check out the wonderful variations of it over at Jo's blog the design team did a great job with the sketch :) I used my current counterfeit kit for the card and this is also one of the cards made from a challenge during Stash Bash over at Simple Scrappers called Bake Sale which you gather up the supplies to make 5 projects (I chose cards)
I used Stamping Up More Merry Messages stamp set and Brilliant Blue ink for the sentiment. I brought in some of the elements from the front of the card for the inside.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all have a fantastic weekend :) We are going to the local fair tonight and then picking green beans and processing them tomorrow so I've got a full week end ahead. Hope to be in the craftroom on Sunday :)

July Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the July Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from Karen's blog I'm excited to see what marvelous creation she has made :) This month's challenges are:

Challenge #1:  Picture This:  Use at least 4 photos on your project
Challenge #2:  Old Tool Challenge: Dust off an old tool and get creative
Challenge #3:  Project Altering Experience: Include an altered embellishment

I chose to do Picture This challenge and for me to use 4 photos is really no challenge :) I do it quite often. I tackled this particuliar challenge cause of just receiving my order of photos from Shutterfly and Snapfish so thought best to start scrapbooking as many photos as I can :)
We enjoyed the 4th this year by taking in the local fireworks. This layout holds 6 photos and lots of red, white and blue. I used up alot of cardstock stickers from a Bo Bunny 4th of July sticker sheet throughout the layout. I also used CTMH American Celebration stamp set with CTMH Holiday Red ink and SU Brilliant Blue ink with splatters of Recollections Red spray ink.
This side of the layout holds 6 photos too. The inspiration of the stamping on the layout came from this week's prompt over at Camp Scrap, looking for inspiration for other things. I watched May's video and while she was stamping here layout I decided to play along and stamp mine. So it was just plain fun that started off this layout. I found some border elements that I used for the side pennants from my stash (old swap pieces received) and more from the chipboard sticker pieces. I added SU Candy Dots in various places.
Found this fun film strip next to me on a shelf so I added it to the layout a perfect spot for the small fireworks photos.
Grabbed some pictures of me and Dave before the show started and during :) Still working on that selfie thing :) The journaling was put on a PL card that was sitting on my desk and ended up in this month's kit box :)
Close up of the fun fireworks we saw
Dave and I watching the fireworks, the pennant element on the photo took out some of the man standing there. It was great to get a couple of pictures of the fireworks over the bridge.
The background looks like it mimics what happens at the end of the show when they just shoot off everything that was left. The sticker sheet I used is just about gone from just adding to this layout and I can see that I can finish up the last few pieces on another layout. Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the hop. Your next stop is over to Julene's blog I wonder which challenge she decided to do...
If you get lost along the way you can find the whole lineup of hoppers over at Counterfeit Kit Blog

LM - It's a Color Challenge: big Sister little Brother layout

Good Morning to you this fine day :) We had a fantastic time yesterday getting together with family all day. First was the Campbell Reunion which is always fun and the best way to catch up with everyone in the family. Great to see all the cousins playing together in harmony really makes for a wonderful day. We got good news yesterday too :) We are gonna be Great Grandparents to a set of twins to be born in February :) OMgoodness! Later in the evening we had our immediate family get together for some roasting hotdogs and smores. Great stuff! and lots more memories to scrap,,,, Enough about my day yesterday, Lets talk Lasting Memories current challenge: It's a Color Challenge and this is what I created with the color pallet given:
2 of Albert's kids, Andrea took this picture of Astacia and AJ during a day trip up at Watkins Glen in NY on June11. There were some fantastic photos from that day and I'll be scrapping more of them but this one was just so cute when I seen it on the FB feed I knew that I had to scrap it.
This is the challenge's color pallet:

and I also used this sketch from Stick it Down for their challenge:

My papers, cards, twine and alphas came from my cuurent Counterfeit kit for this month and the rest came from past month's kits (really need to get some of the old kits embellishments put away :) The background paper's glitter dots are the color of the darker blue of the color challenge, the rest should be easier to see. Neutrals are allowed to be used too.
The title work came from 3 different fonts in my kit. Used the glittery one for Astacia and the black and white one for AJ. This picture shows those blue glitter dots better
I used 2 of the CTMH: Picture This cards from the Skylark kit for 2 of the spots on the sketch and added some of the twine for some fun texture to the layout. Isn't this just the cutest picture :) It is so cool to see the sibling love with this family as it seems through all the kids families.
I added 3 blue skittles, 3 journal strips made with my brother labeler and the date of thee day was added to the bottom of the layout in Broken China distress ink with my Amy Tangerine blue date stamper.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope that you have fun with this color challenge and we see your creations linked up to Lasting Memories.

Funday Friday Hello From Miss Lily

I can't believe I had left this in draft mode, so sorry for the delay :)
Hello from Miss Lily on a Bike card for today's Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Today's challenge is a card, layout or project that is both Embossed and Distressed and our sponsor for this challenge is Little Blue Buttons Stamps:
I made a card with LBBS digi stamp Miss Lily on a Bike:
I used the sketch at Stick it Down for my card

I did dry embossing by using an embossing folder I received with my cuttlebug for the background mat and I used distress in the edge of the sentiment/digi stamp layer. I used lots of stickles in various colors for Lily and I also colored her with Bic markers. I distressed with Mustard Seed distress ink and the sentiment comes for 3 Twenty Crafts Strike A Pose stamp set and I stamped the Hello in Broken China distress ink. Added 3 Stampin Up Subtles Candy Dots to the digi stamp to give a diagonal flow for the eyes to see.
The inside of the card holds a pocket for a gift card made out of the leftover piece of embossed mat. A fun sentiment I found on line and computer generated with distressing along the edge of the mat. I also distressed the inside of the card a bit with using tape to pull away the smooth of the cardstock to give it a rougher look. A card ready to send to my next relative or friend that gets s new house. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up.

My July Counterfeit Kit

Good Day :) Wow we are in the middle of July already! It is just whizzing by and so much fun along the way that needs to be scrapped. So I thought best to get my kit together for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge before July flies by anymore than it has. I just got almost 200 photos from Shutterfly and Snapfish that need to be scrapped so I see some binge scrapping the rest of the month just to get these few events scrapped before I get more pictures developed of the future events taking place over the next few weeks. Plus working on some Christmas cards from the yahoo group I belong too that is doing Christmas in July. Then there is Camp Scrap this month also with May Flaum that so far has been a blast! You can find details at her blog : Craft with May if your interested.
So the kit that we are to counterfeit is the Scrapabilly's March Kit it has a tempting monochromatic feel to it. As soon as I seen the first thing that came to mind for me was the CTMH Frosted and the Skylark kits. So both of those kits were the starting points for building my kit:

Chilled Summer Tea

So in both these kits I have pulled the blues from the kit that we were to counterfeit. From this I also pulled these loose papers:
I've been working through 2 DCWV paper stacks trying to make a dent in both stacks so most of the papers came from those. Had to add some patriotic paper for to scrap some 4th of July pictures. The Christmas prints are mainly for card making and pulled out what I had left in the one stack.
Then I pulled a few really specific papers cause I know the pictures that I'm scrapping will enhance some of this paper.
This kit also spoke to me at the beginning of the month when the counterfeit kit was revealed, so I knew I would have to add it to my kit this month. I like to try to get some of the smaller size paper pads into my kits each month and this one is 8 X 8 so it's a perfect add to the kit and I added the embellishments that came with it also.
The Alphas that I plan to use, but I do have the option to stray and use my other alphas if needed. I also came across this pack of Family Project Life cards and thought it may be a good addition to the kit, the colors seem to match well.
The doodads to complete the kit for the month. I have some washi, some twine, twist ties, journal pieces, brads, die cuts and stickers. I also have a tray of Christmas goodies that never got separated from this past Christmas that I can use for my Christmas cards crafting and that has washi, glitter tapes, ribbons, stickles, embossing powders, brads and twine too.
With Camp Scrap going on you'll see a variety of stamps, inks and paints used in my crafting as well. Thanks for stopping by today :) For me I've got a lot to plan for the layouts I want to do over the next week and somehow get a nap in before work tonight. have a fantastic day!

Lasting Memories 3 Pattern Paper Challenge–After Midnight

Good Morning all, so far it's been just a gorgeous weekend here in PA. Dave and I had a wonderful time together yesterday hitting the yard sales and seeing the IH truck show at the Sones Musuem here in Muncy, PA. finally a weekend with no rain we are well blessed :) Corn is in tassel so everything in the garden should be growing a bit faster now that it's had some sunshine.
Today is a Lasting Memories challenge and this week's challenge is to use 3 pattern papers. With the way I use pattern papers in my layouts it was actually challenging to do one with just 3 pattern papers, but I did.
The background paper, the pre die-cut paper and the paper behind the journaling are my 3 pattern papers. This is another layout from May's Load Music Mayhem. I used my May Counterfeit Kit for the layout. This came from the prompt on May 15: Cover Me, Cover You: Let’s take a spin on styles and genres today! Artists will often “cover” a song in a new style – maybe they speed it up or slow it down. Find a page you like in the gallery and put your own spin on it. So I did:   I really like how Cynthia did her layout on the day of the popular song so that is the one I lifted (sorry I can't show you hers). She did her's from May of the same year and I just loved the way it was layed out so mine just about matches her's other than I added the top 5 songs in the middle which she didn't have. I mimicked the tilt of the 4 spots on the layout and I mimic her journaling exactly except putting mine in for her's.
Sherry was the #1 song the day I was born, that explains why I like the 4 Seasons songs :) I'm truly thankful I wasn't named Sherry, Mom did say she was thinking Cheryl and at the final moments changed her mind. I titled the layout After Midnight (a song title I found on the internet) with the subtitle of in 1962. See I was born shortly after midnight, Mom said that at first they had my date for the 5th of October, but she gotten it straighten out.
The journaling was printed on white cardstock and die cut with Spellbinders Label 9 dies
This addition to the page was for the fun of it the Top 5 songs of that day.
I kept each block to 4X4. It was a fun layout to do and a good one to use to start an about me album. Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world and I hope to see your creation linked up to Lasting Memories challenges real soon.

Beach Fun for Funday Friday

Hi you all! Oh it really has been one of those types of weeks! Must be from that long weekend I had last week to cause a really long week this week, but thank goodness it's Friday in fact it is Funday Friday! Over at Jo's Scrap Shack this week's challenge for Funday Friday is
"Nautical Seascapes"
Our sponsors are Di's Digi Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps. I used Bugaboo's stamp: Beach Border: and from the png file I created a cut file in my Silhouette software. It took a bit to figure it out, but it did cut out better than I though it was going to:
This layout was planned for this theme the pictures and the thoughts behind doing the diecut title, but yesterday in my email I seen in the daily bloglovin email the sketch from Sketch N Scrap and knew that was the one I wanted to use for my layout:
It's their Twistback Thursday Sketch and besides using the sketch you have to use the twist too which was Old/Vintage photos. These are definetly photos from an earlier time in my life and the prints came from old slides (really need to figure out how to clean them up before scanning).
I'm also doing May Flaum's Camp Scrap this month and this is this week's challenge to do monochromatic. So I chose to stay in the blues other than that neutral tan for the diecut . I used one piece of paper from last month's counterfeit kit and went to my blues paper drawer to find the rest of the blues needed for the layout.
Close up of the diecut I created. Will have to play around more with this new found knowledge of making diecuts :)
This little bottom block was fun to create, I used the stamp from the CTMH Seaside workshop on the go stamped in Brilliant ink from SU, I used the waves stickers and enamel dots from a Jolee's dimensional sticker pack for the circles in the sketch. The starfish came from a K&Copany chipboard sticker collection and the playing in the waves and the word spots came from a Recollections dimensional stickers.
The misting came from Heidi Swapp's Teal color shine, flicking it around the layout for texture.
I figured that one open spot with nothing in it was perfect to use for m journaling. Not much to add other than the who, what, when, where type of  thing in paragraph form. So glad that May Flaum challenged us this week with the color challenge and so glad that sketch showed up in my email cause both really made this layout work :)
I'm also linking this up to Scrap Our Stash stash challenge with the word : PHOTOS:
P: Pattern Paper, Pennants
H: Heidi Swapp Teal color shine mist
O: Ocean theme
T: Thickers
O: odd number of photos
S: Starfish, stamp, sketch

To complete the stash challenge, I used the following items:
P ~ Punch, Pink Sticker
H ~ Hashtag
O ~ Orange Sticker
T ~ Twine, Tag, Tab
O ~ Oval (camera lens in patterned paper)
S ~ Stitching (faux zigzig), Selfie sticker, Sequins"
